An Honest Review of Follain Eye Cream

As I neared my forties, I began to notice an increasing number of fine lines around my eyes, and none of the various creams felt like the right fit for me. Some did hydrate my skin, but would later cause breakouts. Others helped a bit with fine lines but didn’t improve the dark circles under my eyes. I researched high-end luxury brands, but was not willing to spend hundreds of dollars for a few ounces of product. In my twenties, I had turned to drugstore creams, but a recent Google search of some of my old favorites revealed everything from formaldehyde to parabens lurking in the ingredient lists. And those same products, I learned, were often horrible for the environment or the people who produced them.

Where was the reasonably-priced product that actually improved my skin and contained healthy, sustainable ingredients?

The answer was Follain Eye Cream. This multitasking eye cream is a one-stop shop for the under-eye area.

Improved Skin Without Breakouts

Follain Eye Cream contains a Vitamin C blend composed of apple extract, squalane and rosehip oil that has been shown to visibly brighten and energize fatigued skin. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that stimulates collagen production and protects against environmental stressors. Some moisturizers are so greasy they can cause breakouts, but not this one. It has a light, creamy texture that is hydrating without feeling heavy.  The Vitamin C blend soothes and moisturizes, leaving skin soft and smooth without causing greasiness or blemishes. An added benefit to the rosehip oil is that it gives this cream a subtle floral scent that is light and fresh.

Reduced Fine Lines Without Redness

For a while, I tried eye creams containing retinol, hoping they would banish my fine lines and wrinkles. The only result was that my skin became red and inflamed. Follain Eye Cream does not contain retinol, which can be irritating to some users (like me). Instead, it uses caffeine and Bakuchiol, which firm and plump the skin, reducing fine lines and puffiness while improving the appearance of dark circles and hyperpigmentation. The caffeine constricts blood vessels and stimulates blood flow, leading to brighter, more radiant skin. Bakuchiol, known as a gentler alternative to retinol, boosts collagen production and promotes cell turnover, reducing the appearance of fine lines without causing redness and irritation.

Follain Eye Cream reduces fine lines and puffiness—without the redness or breakouts.

Clean Ingredients

This product has passed Credo’s Clean Beauty Standard, which means it is free of 2700 ingredients which have been proven unsafe or unsustainably produced. The ingredients are vegan and naturally-derived. So many products on the market these days contain ingredients like parabens and phthalates, which have been linked to cancer, or propylene glycol, a derivative of petroleum. Follain’s eye cream is also free of dyes, synthetic fragrances, and other harmful additives. The result is a product that has only beneficial, good-for-you ingredients.

Safety and Sustainability

Follain Eye Cream is not just good for you, it’s good for the planet and the people that produce it. Many beauty products contain palm oil, which causes deforestation, habitat loss and increased green house gas emissions when produced. Follain Eye Cream hydrates skin without the use of palm oil. Its ingredients are sourced ethically and sustainably. You can even feel good about the packaging. Follain’s containers are made from more than 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and their pumps—one of the hardest components to recycle—contain more than 15% post-consumer recycled plastic.

Affordable Results

At $38 from Credo Beauty, Follain Eye Cream is more affordable than most other luxury brands, which can run anywhere from $50-$300 and beyond. A bit of research into these high-end products shows that they seem to produce the exact same results I’m already seeing from Follain: reduced fine lines and dark circles, and skin that is smoother, softer and brighter. In terms of results, affordability, health and sustainability, this product truly is the best I’ve come across.

Graduate to Grown-up Skincare

Folks, it’s time to graduate to grown-up skincare. I’m done wasting money on cheap products that harm my skin and the environment and don’t produce results. I’m already excited to try some other products from Follain like their Moisturizer and their Brightening Serum, both available from Credo.

Yes, I’m pushing forty, but along with those fine lines and wrinkles I’ve gained an understanding of the value of investing in quality over quantity.

I’m now a convert to the world of luxurious, clean and sustainable beauty that actually works, and it all started with Follain Eye Cream.
